Woohoo it's a Weekender :D

Hello there,

Just a quick shout out from me, I'm sat with my coffee ready to watch Create and Craft to see Leann Chiver's demo's with the brand new Die'sire Accordian die sets from Crafter's Companion

Here's another of my samples for the show:

I had the idea that these dies would be just perfect to send a picture journal card to someone who lives miles away, bringing families closer at Christmas!  I'd just love to see their face when they open it, we will be doing this again for our own Christmas cards :D

Here's what I used:
Style: Accordion Create a card

Die'sire Die’s used: Rectangle Accordion die with Fairy Lights overlay die
PLUS the inner scalloped edge die in the Accordion die set
Stamp set: Crafter's Companion Happy Holidays sentimental rubber stamp set
Cardstock: Crafter's Companion  Matt Black Card, Linen effect card
Collal All Purpose glue, Collal Tacky glue, Crafter's Companion red liner tape

Other bits: Red Pinflair Buff It, printer

A few more pics just coz I can lol

The pic's are of 2 of my children, and we had great fun in the garden messing around to get these pics!  Getting the sentiment held in a place we could see it in close up was hilarious lol

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you like this one as much as I do :D

The new Crafter's Companion fancy Edgeable dies launch at 12 noon today over on Create and Craft's Tool Shed hour make sure you watch or set it to record, you will just adore these dies!

Here is one I made for the show, using the dies to make a Tri Screen Card (and as it's me, I went a little bit mixed media on it coz I couldn't help myself lol)

Here's what I used to make it:

Style: Screen Card
Die'sire Fancy Edgeables, Victoriana
Crafters Companion Black card, Antique Gold gilding wax
Collal all purpose, red liner tape from Crafters Companion
Other materials: Graphic 45 Nouveau Paper 8x8 paper pad, lace, charms,

Emphemera, flowers

The true matt black card from Crafter's Companion Essentials range is perfect for makes like this one, it takes embossing and waxing so well and its 300gsm so it's a good construction weight.

Here's some more pics:

Shades of Summer...

Hello again,

It's time for some 'shades of summer'!  That's the theme for this months challenge over at Crafting Muskateers Challenge Blog...we would love you to come and join in the challenge.

The sponsor this month is The Hobby House, a totally awesome prize so lets get ready, set and go.....

'Shades of Summer' inspiration:

You know those feelings you get when you are really happy with what you've created?  Doesn't happen often for me but this one really did make me smile :D

Here's the how and the what's:

Supplies from Crafters Companion
Cardstock: Hint of silver Centura Pearl 300gsm card; Coordinations card; Black Card
Die used: Die'Sire Create a Card Lace Butterfly (seriously if you haven't got this yet, please take a peek....it is so gorgeous and versatile).
Accented by Pebeo Gilding Wax

Supplies from The Hobby House
Embellishment: Lace; Pearl String

From Stash: bakers twine and key

The 'how' is so easy with the Create A Card range of dies... I made a 6 x 6 inch card base using Hint of Silver Centura Peal card ; the Lace Butterfly Create a Card is 6x6 inches.  Lay the die onto the Centura Pearl card and simply run through the Cut n Boss.
Then use Coordinations card (6 x 6) and run the die through again.  Then lay it carefully over the Centura Pearl you cut before...the raise the wings on both pieces...you will be able to create a double wing look (see photo's) by doing this.
I then rubbed gilding wax over the raised areas and then added lace and pearls to the body of the Butterfly and a final touch using the key and bakers twine.

Here's the close ups:

Thank you so much for stopping by and it would be great if you would click to follow me so I can share more of my makes with you :D

Don't forget to check out the Crafting Muskateers Challenge this month, remember the theme is 'shades of summer' so it time to get that summer feeling rocking the craft room :D

Last Christmas commission to share...then its New Year!

Hello again,

Another commission make I'd like to share with you based on a card I did a while back.  The simple style was chosen by a friend who asked me to a make a special Christmas card for someone special, so I'd like to share it with you now I can.

This is another short post as we are all so very busy with family at this time of year that I don't want to keep you too long xxx

Here it is:

No digi stamp, just the sentiment and the added name...I think it turned out so effective that I will be doing more similar in future :D
The sentiment is double layered on white card, a technique I've shared before with you that works so well to lift the image without taking the eye away from it.  I added a touch of blue guilding wax by Cosmic Shimmer to the edges (its one of Phil Martins colours)
The backing papers are from Michele R Designs as is the insert
The snowflakes are cut on my sillouette
The bling, flowers, charms, white gesso, pearls and other embellies are from That Craft Place
Top Tip: the voile edging is again pleated using my hot glue gun, one pleat at a time!  So much quicker than sewing (which I can't lol) and a new tip is that I use my large embossing tool (large ball on the end) to push the voile into the hot glue!  Keeps my fingers away and the glue comes off the metal ball end so easily its a great trick xx

Here's the close ups:

Thank you so much for stopping by I really do appreciate you taking the time xxx

Happy Crafting and a Happy New Year to you and yours

Anything Goes! A New Challenge Starts over at The Stamping Chef...

Hello Again,

Well, it's that time again!  The awesome challenge has started again over at The Stamping Chef Challenge Blog and as always the theme is Anything Goes!  So, it's a chance to put down the Christmas stuff and grab your creativity!

In that spirit, here's what I came up with and not a Jingle Bell in sight!

I know I say this a lot...but...this may be my favourite make of 2014!  I just love how it turned out!

Here's what I used:
Image: Noisette collection by The Stamping Chef.  It's a fabulous pack with the digi stamp, backing paper, mixed media cogs and butterflies that for the second sheet of backing I over laid onto the edge of the sheet in My Craft Studio and then printed and cut out.  I also printed the butterflies again bigger so I could layer.
Extra's: bakers twine from my stash, pearl brads, glossy accents and Cosmic Shimmer gilding wax!

Here's How:
Oh boy this was so easy but I adore it!
I printed the backing paper from the Noisette set to fit with an edge on a 7x7 inch card base.  I stuck that onto black card and then onto the card base card.
I printed the backing again, but this time I reduced the size to 5.5 inch square and then in my craft studio I added the digital cogs and butterflies (that come in the Noisette download!) so that they hung over the edges of the paper.  Then I cut it out and put in the centre of the card (raised on foam tape).
The image was coloured with Graph'it Markers (sorry no colours today, I forgot! doh) and then layered onto black card.
Now my favourite bit!  I used the new Phil Martin blue Cosmic Shimmer gilding wax on the edges of the black mat for the image and on the main card and wow!  It looks gorgeous and the pics don't really show it to the best effect so trust me...just get them if you haven't yet!
I added glossy accents to the balloon, the clock face on her hat and to her eyes for an extra shine.
Finally, I cut the larger butterflies I had printed and layered them onto the card and I added the limited edition banner (also from the Noisette download!) and viola!

Here's the close ups:

I think I'll keep this one for a while, just to smile at! lol

Thank you so much for popping by and don't forget to check out the Stamping Chef Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team is up to!

Happy Crafting :D
