Hello again,
I am so pleased to have been asked by Mi Ran to Guest DT for this times challenge...the theme is anything goes and you can check out the full design teams makes on the Art by MiRan Challenge Blog
As this was a special one for me (I adore Mi Ran's images), I decided to make the project special too.
My make is for my big Sister, I know I shared a chalk board I made for her recently too but this one is for her Birthday. Some of you know that she's not had the best of times recently and I do love her so much that I decided to make her a frame for her Birthday (it was the 2nd but we have delayed it as she was poorly in hospital). If you're reading this Brenda, then know that I love you more than you know and I am always, always here for you xxx
So here is my GDT project:
Here's what I used and how:
Image: Punkie Pattie by Art by MiRan; I chose her because my big Sis is a bit of a rebel, a bit of a rocker and loves to shock, this is so her (except perhaps the innocent look on her face lol)
Coloured: I used my Copic's and the purple combo is V04, V06, V09 and E49. Purple because it's my Sister's fav colour and I am totally sure she would have her hair this colour if she could!
I have coloured onto super smooth card from That Craft Place
Embellies: Honestly...the black ribbon roses are from an old dress of my daughters! See, my ongoing Top Tip, never throw something away on day one...leave it for a day to see if you can think of a way to use it in your crafting! lol.
I love, as regulars to my blog will know, to build what I call 'junk piles' with my embellies. They are like little 'junk drifts' on my makes! So I adhered the ribbon down first with hot glue then grabbed all sorts of embellies, bits of an old necklace and an MDF birdcage (that I covered in gold Pinflair Buff It first) and glued then all in place.
The frame is an 8x8 inch shadow box frame from Wilkinson's (a UK store for home stuff and all sorts of stuff relatively cheap), it was already painted white so I left it that way; I really wanted the image to stand out on this one.
Sentiment: I chose this one for my Sister and its from Create with TLC. If you haven't checked out her blog yet go have a look...she offers free sentiments and seriously they are just so beautiful xxx
So that's it, my GDT make for the Art by MiRan Challenge Blog...
Here's the close ups:
Thank you so much for stopping by and I really do appreciate each comment you leave :D Please don't forget to follow my blog for my next crafty project.

Anything Goes....perfect time to join in at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog!
Hello again,
Isn't January a long month! Always a bit of had Christmas, long time 'till summer feeling about so it's a perfect time to join us over at Aud Sentiment Challenge Blog for a fabulous Anything Goes challenge and let your creativity run a muck!
Our delicious sponsor this time is Sassy Studio Designs and the image I got to play with is the gorgeous Latte Momma Sassy and here's the design I came up with...
Purple is not one of my fav colours so I challenged myself with this one to use purple tones and come out of my comfort zone...not 100% sure on it now its finished but the children assure me it looks ace so here it is lol :D
Here's what I used:
Image: Latte Momma Sassy by Sassy Studio Designs
Colour and image backing: Coloured with Graph'it Marker pens: hair tones 2105, 2120, 2140, 2160, 3160; Clothes: 9400, 9402, 9404, 6110, 6120, 6140, 6180
300gsm super smooth card from That Craft Place
Backing: papers from my stash...can't remember where as I'm still trying to use up the pile I have of bits and bobs! Cosmic shimmer mica spray was used around the image (from That Craft Place)
Embellies: purple burlap - a find in the Pound Shop!, lace from stash, Flowers, wooden owls and pearls are all from my stash but check out embellies at That Craft Place especially MDF pieces!
Sentiment: Create with TLC .... TOP TIP if you haven't checked this one out yet you really must! Paulette is so generous with her free sentiments and has fab designs too xx
Here's how:
No special tricks this time...matting and layering of papers and burlap is how I created this piece, placing the image to the side gives room for a whole host of flowers and bits and pieces. I love using old brads (oh TOP TIP! see I have got one! I use old brads that I don't use any more..they seem to have gone out of fashion, by cutting the prongs off the back and then hot glueing them just as you would any flat back embellishment! a whole new set of embellies to play with now lol). Around the image I used cosmic shimmer spray in a tonal colour and I applied it by spraying it on my glass mat and then dabbing it on the image with an almost dry scrunched up baby wipe!
The insert is matching paper and that's about that.
Here's the close ups:
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and I hope you liked my make for today :D Please start to follow me so that I can share more of my makes with you all x

Another Christmas make....words can say so much...
Hello again,
I spent a day recently at my crafty desk trying not to use a digi image!
I have only been colouring since April (2014!) and before that inking, stamping and distressing was my love, but since discovering my alcohol markers I have not made anything without a focal digi stamp for ages!
The sentiment is one that meant so much to me, reaching out to my family, a time to come together no matter what and just be xxx
So I challenged myself not to use my growing pile of coloured digi stamps and this is one I was very pleased with; still using papers but its one of my fav's from the crafty session...
Here's what I used:
Sentiment: Create with TLC - free sentiments and this is one that really spoke to me and the Christmas feeling :D
Backing elements: Shabby Blue Frost Elements Pack 2 by Michele R Designs - Another make just using tags and tickets! No backing papers were used at all! I love working with different ways to use our stash x (the insert was also from the elements pack.
Colour: Instead of ink I used Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Wax! I had real trouble to get the lustre to show up on the pics so you will just have to trust me, its gorgeous lol Cosmic Shimmer products are available at That Craft Place
Embellies: varies funky ribbons, bling and a die cut from a Joy Crafts die (butterfly border) - from That Craft Place
No here's how because as you can see, its just all layered. I cut an 8x8 inch card base down to 6.5 inch square so I could hang over and still get it in the envelope for mailing!
I laid the central sentiment once matted onto the base card roughly were I wanted it and used a pencil to lightly mark the edges on the base card. This meant when I removed it I knew how much of the base card I needed to cover with my random placing of the tags and tickets. Once done and glued down I then used foam tape to layer the sentiment in place...then add bling!
Here's the close ups:
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you leave me a comment before you go as I love to read them and I really do appreciate the time you take to do it xxx
Happy Crafting :D
