Anything Goes....perfect time to join in at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog!

Hello again,

Isn't January a long month!  Always a bit of had Christmas, long time 'till summer feeling about so it's a perfect time to join us over at Aud Sentiment Challenge Blog for a fabulous Anything Goes challenge and let your creativity run a muck!

Our delicious sponsor this time is Sassy Studio Designs and the image I got to play with is the gorgeous Latte Momma Sassy and here's the design I came up with...

Purple is not one of my fav colours so I challenged myself with this one to use purple tones and come out of my comfort zone...not 100% sure on it now its finished but the children assure me it looks ace so here it is lol :D

Here's what I used:
Image: Latte Momma Sassy by Sassy Studio Designs
Colour and image backing: Coloured with Graph'it Marker pens: hair tones 2105, 2120, 2140, 2160, 3160; Clothes: 9400, 9402, 9404, 6110, 6120, 6140, 6180
300gsm super smooth card from That Craft Place
Backing: papers from my stash...can't remember where as I'm still trying to use up the pile I have of bits and bobs!  Cosmic shimmer mica spray was used around the image (from That Craft Place)
Embellies: purple burlap - a find in the Pound Shop!, lace from stash, Flowers, wooden owls and pearls are all from my stash but check out embellies at That Craft Place especially MDF pieces!
Sentiment: Create with TLC .... TOP TIP if you haven't checked this one out yet you really must!  Paulette is so generous with her free sentiments and has fab designs too xx

Here's how:
No special tricks this time...matting and layering of papers and burlap is how I created this piece, placing the image to the side gives room for a whole host of flowers and bits and pieces.  I love using old brads (oh TOP TIP!  see I have got one!  I use old brads that I don't use any more..they seem to have gone out of fashion, by cutting the prongs off the back and then hot glueing them just as you would any flat back embellishment!  a whole new set of embellies to play with now lol).  Around the image I used cosmic shimmer spray in a tonal colour and I applied it by spraying it on my glass mat and then dabbing it on the image with an almost dry scrunched up baby wipe!
The insert is matching paper and that's about that.

Here's the close ups:

All Dressed Up for a Winter Birthday...

Hello Again,

An extra post from me today to show you a recent make for a Winter Birthday using an fabulous image from All Dressed Up.

Here's what I used and the how's:
Image: Christmas Girl by All Dressed Up
Colours and paper: I have used Copic's to colour her and the purple combo is BV0000, V20, V22, V25; coloured on 300gsm super smooth card from That Craft Place
Backing paper: honestly...its a cheap pad I picked up from The Works!  I just loved the muted tones.
Die cuts: Snowflakes and fence are cut files on my sillouette; Stars are a Joy Crafts Star stack set again from That Craft Place
Extras: Cosmic shimmer glue, sticky jewels and Glamour Dust (my fav glitter).
Insert: same papers from American Crafts and then...
TOP TIP alert... the waste from a Spellbinders Adorning Squares die cut that I used on another make, can be used as a fabulous frame on your inserts!  I hand wrote the sentiment but it is inspired by Zoe from Make It Crafty and I have some of these chipboard words winging its way to me :D

Here's the close ups:

The image was given to me as a part of The Outlawz Challenge Blog's Progressive Challenge; if you've not heard of it yet, check it out...as a part of the challenge the image is given to you FREE, you make a card and enter it in that months challenge, then you get the next months image free and so on.  If you don't enter a make, you can rejoin at any time by buying that months image and then the next will be free as usual.  It's a great way to try out a lot of different sponsors images and try different styles :D

I just love New Release's! She's a new Slinky...

Hello again,

New release day over at Slinky Tart (Art by Tamara, previously known as The Stamping Chef) and I have the honour of being one of the first to get to colour and craft with her...

Without further ado...here she is!

Isn't she just delish!

Her name is 'Holy Shirt!' and she will be available in the shop from today (Monday 19th January 2015)...check out the Slinky Tart Store HERE

Here's the how's and what's
I have kept the layout simple, but used bold colours, colouring her with Copic's.
The colours for her clothes are G20, G24, G46, R81, R83, R85 and R39
The backing papers are from American Crafts and I have used coordination's card stock for the matting and layering (check out That Craft Place, our fav store, for papers and embellies galore)

Its got to be Love!

Hello again,

I have a gorgeous image to share with you today for the start of the new challenge over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog and the theme is Love/Valentines

You know me, I'm not the mostly girly of girls but using a fabulous image is the best way to get into the mood, so I chose Keep A Secret Betty Boots by That Craft Place (Lisa is just amazing!)

Here she is:

I really loved the final look of this one...as some of you know I've not been feeling the best lately and even harder on myself than usual but this one did the trick and made me smile :D

Here's what and how:
Image: Keep a Secret, Betty Boots from That Craft Place Etsy Shop
Coloured: Copic colours are; for the skin E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 and for the hair E53, E53, E57 and E59, sorry the reds where experimenting with my new pens so I don't have the final colours.  She was printed and coloured on 300gsm super smooth card from That Craft Place
Additional items available from That Craft Place as follows:
Backing Paper: My Minds Eye paper pad, also used for insert
Dies: Spellbinders Adorning Squares
Burlap, flowers, ribbon, MDF shapes and Frantage (loooove Frantage!)
Small bottle filled with small gems for fairy dust, which is good for wishes as we all know!
And bells!  The bells were from a Christmas Decoration I picked up from the Range last week at 70% off and I off course chopped it up and its now in my lovely stash!

So, this is my Love make and the bells actually make a fabulous sound when you shake the card!

It's good to start the weekend with a Slinky!

Hello Again,

An extra post from me today to show you one of my 'current' favourite Slinky Tart designs...I say 'current' because Tamara (formally designing under the name The Stamping Chef) draws the most amazing slinky images that my favourite is sure to change!

So, here she is:

Here's what I used and the how:

Image: Rocking Mom by Slinky Tart
Coloured using Graph'it Markers (did the colouring before Christmas lol)
Backing papers: sadly retired :(  The elements and papers are from a retired The Stamping Chef set but I love them so want to continue to use them...

It's rare for me to do a single layer card, but just occasionally its nice to make one that fits in the envelope in case it needs posting lol
I have raised one of the birds, some of the letters, the hand and the image using Pinflair Glue Gel to give a little dimension.

Here's the close ups:

Thank you for stopping by and I do hope you use the links in the top right sidebar to follow my blog :D
