I just couldn't help it!

Hello again,

I know, I know, I have been posting a lot of make with the fabulous Pretty Sweet collection from Polkadoodles but they are so lush!

Anyway, after this one I promise no more for a while - I have plans for October and there is several makes I want to try and an array of gorgeousness I want to share with you next!

So onto todays make:

I present Maddie Shy

Isn't she adorable :D

I have coloured her with my Graph'it Marker Pens then I distressed the edges before matting her on a backing paper (its the same as the base layer).
All the papers are from Pretty Sweet CD collection as is the sentiment (the clever Nikky Hall made sheets of circular sentiments with instructions as to which size punch to use!) - its fabulous value for money and the papers are lush, so versatile :D

I added a die cut from my sillouette, lace, flowers, and embellishments to finish the design.
Her are the close up picks so you can see the detail xx

Thank you so much for stopping by and please remember to leave a comment as I love reading your comments :D

Happy Crafting :D

Mid-challenge inspiration with Polkadoodles

Hello again,

We're mid-challenge over at the Polkadoodles challenge blog so I'm here to offer some DT mid-challenge inspiration :)

The theme - a sketch as you can see above; I have used Kraft card as the backing mat to all my papers and the delicious papers are all from the Pretty Sweet CD collection from Polkadoodles.
I have distressed the edges of each layer and then added a little Tim Holtz frayed burlap distress ink to the edges to add to the effect.

The image is Amelia Roses and she is from the Pretty Sweet CD collection but is also available on her own for digi download!  How fabulous is that :D

I have coloured Amelia with my Graph'it Markers in the following tones:
Skin: 4120, 4115, 4155, 4145
Hair: 1210, 1230, 1280, 3110
Clothes: 5125, 5110, 5140, 9201, 9203, 9205
I added a little stamped postage mark around her, using frayed burlap ink (second generation print) before I distressed and matted her.

The fabulous bunting is a cut file from the NEW Winston CD - seriously, that collection is so full you will be using it on everything for ages!!!

To make sure I got back to the sketch!  I added:
I added flowers and then die cuts from Tattered lace called Florentine Corner - which cut so easily on the Kraft card! A large heart die cut from my sillouette under the image (distress inked too), lace across the middle also distressed inked and I think that's it!  I left off one heart from the sketch but if I won't tell if you don't lol and with a bit of luck the boss won't see haha

I hope you like it and I look forward to you joining us for the Polkadoodles challenge.

Happy Crafting :D

More of Pretty Sweet...

Hello again,

Just a quick post from me today (trying to squeeze it in before dinner!  Why are weekends so hectic! lol) but I wanted to share with you another make from the fabulous digi collection at Polkadoodles (don't forget that if you want to instant check out follow the big arrow to check out and skip the 'basket'!

Well here is my design....

I have used the fabulous Piper digi stamp and she is available on her own (remember to follow the arrow to instant checkout) and as a part of the adorable Pretty Sweet mini collection CD from Polkadoodles.

I have coloured Piper with my Graph'it Marker pens BUT the books I have sat her on are pre-coloured and are from the CD!  I love it that we can manipulate the images and create our own unique designs xx

The papers are also all from the CD collection and I have got to say the patchwork paper is fast becoming on of my fav's (it comes in 4 colours but you can manipulate them in your studio softwares to loads more!).

And of course it wouldn't be one of my designs if I didn't add pearls, lace and flowers!  The rolled flowers are using a De'sire die xx

I really hope you enjoyed your visit and please leave a comment before you go as I love reading your feedback :D

Happy Crafting

Are mens cards harder???

Hello again,

The current challenge over at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog is 'For a Man!' and I must say I let out a small omg when I read it!!!  Men's card can be so difficult and so challenging to make so hopefully the whole DT will have come up with some inspiration for you over this challenge!

I had to have a long think about who I would send it too and how to make it a little funky!!!
The sponser this time is Doodle Pantry and I was so surprised when I took a look at their range of digi's as to how many options I had for a funky man's card, so I hope you like the design I came up with.......

The image I chose was a package of digi's and papers called Detective Sheep!  Isn't he fabulous!
I coloured the sheep with my Graph'it Marker Pens in the following colours:
Sheep - 9501 9502 9505 9507 9909 9905
Clothes - 8240 8280 8290

I layered it simply on black card and a checked background to match the hat design.  The sentiment is Birthday and is hidden in the little note book I made!!

The note book was really simple to make!  An off-cut of black card and some printer paper...cut to 2inches by 1 inch and wrapped together with bakers twine as you can see in the photo.  I added some pinflare buff it in gold to add an aged effect to the cover and that was it!

I really hope you like this one and thank you for stopping by.  Don't forget to leave a comment as I love reading your feedback :)

Happy Crafting :)

Not just cards...new challenge at Diva's by Design Challenge blog..

Hello again,

I really love it when we have a challenge that it 'Anything but a Card', which is the new challenge launching today at Diva's by Design Challenge Blog.

As part of the DT it gives me a chance to move away from the piles of digi images and stamps on my desk and think outside of the box!

This make was a request by a friend of my daughters and I'd love to share it with you....

The heart itself is made for off-cuts of flooring panels that my lovely husband cut into simple hearts for me...this one measures approx 8 inches top to bottom for a guide.
I covered it with high tack PVA glue and then added two pieces of scrap backing papers....that's the great thing about making these, you get to use up scraps!!!

TOP TIP - when I do these, once I've laid the papers over the glued heart I use my 'clean' brayer to roll over the paper to make sure that there are no air bubbles or bumps in the glue.  It also helps to get a really strong bond between the paper and the board.

I then let it dry before sanding the edges back (I use fine sand paper that I liberated from my husbands tool stash!).

I then used a font on my PC to write the personalised strip across the middle, cut it to a suitable width and then again glued it with high tack PVA.

With drilled holes for the string and the addition of a few flowers and ribbon it is all finished!
I really hope you like this make as much as I do :)

Don't forget to hop over to the Diva's by Design Challenge Blog to join us in 'Anything but a card' theme this time and I really look forward to seeing your crafty makes...and there is a fabulous prize from Crafty Devils.

Thank you for visiting and don't forget to leave a comment as I love reading your feedback :)

A little bit of Pretty Sweet....

Hello again,

Just popping in to share a quick make with you today....not a DT make this time, this ones just for fun!

I thought I'd challenge myself to do monochrome using only the greys in my Graph'it Marker Pens.  I have already shown the image on its own on my facebook page (here) but I had time (a rare chance) to make it straight up into a card!  I hope you like it.....

The main image is the beautiful Amelia Roses and she is available as a digi download on her own or as a part of the Pretty Sweet CD collection.  All the papers on this make where also from the Pretty Sweet collection but I printed them on grey scale on my printer so they fitted the monochrome theme.

I coloured her totally with the cool greys from my markers and then stamped a postage stamp around her using London Grey momento ink.

I added lace (coloured black with my alcohol marker), flowers and some pearls to the design and added the Florence corner die from Tattered Lace.  Then as always (because I seem to be a little addicted to it) I added a few drops of perfect pearls :D

I really hope you like this make with Amelia Roses by Polkadoodles and thank you so much for dropping by :D

Happy Crafting

The Stamping Chef Challenge Blog runs weekly challenges with the theme 'Anything Goes' and here is my first DT inspiration for you....

Isn't the image adorable!
I have used Cogsey Copperpot from the steampunk collection and coloured her with my Graph'it Marker Pens
Skin: 4120, 4115, 4155, 4145
Hair: 1230, 3210, 3245
Clothes: 5210, 5220, 3150, 3170, 9509, 9507, 9504, 9501

The backing paper and tags are from the wonderful MichelleR Designs and I have layered vintage lace over the top.
The die cuts were all cut on my sillouette and coloured black with a marker pen then rubbed over with red and then gold Buff It from Pinflare (my new love!).
I added flower lace to the edging and a couple of wood hearts (also coloured with red Buff It) and that was it :)

A sneak peek at a new Polkadoodles launch CD....

Hello again!

I mega excited to be here this morning to show you a sneak peek of a new launch!!!

Winston from Polkadoodles is available today from Create and Craft at 3pm. Leone will be joining our very own Nikky Hall who will show you all the totally glorious images available on the Winston CD.

This is a jammed packed CD, full of characters, embellishments, Kraft papers, texture papers, backing papers, empheria, sentiments, cutting files and so much more!  I cannot explain just how packed full this CD is....so I'll show you just one of my samples....

WOW right!  Unusually for me I have used a pre-coloured image from the CD and added a present, balloons and a clock (from the embelishments section) behind the main image of Birthday Winson.

I have then cut him in to a circle, so I could use a shaped card!! I know, me and a shaped card, by choice!!! But I think he deserves me to push the boat out :)

The flowers are all cut from the CD and the rolled roses are from the backing papers.  The totally gorgeous bunting is one of the many cut files on Winston's CD and I have added lace, burlap and a couple of doilies edged in gold Buff It to set him off!

So grab a cuppa this afternoon and join us on the sofa to watch the fabulous Nikky Hall launch the brand new Winston CD

Thank you for visiting and please leave me a comment :)

Tag It! .....A new challenge at Polkadoodles Challenge Blog :)

Hello again you :)

Its the start of a new challenge at the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog and so I am here with the DT inspiration for this fortnights challenge - Tag It!

The tag itself is an Artboard tag that you can pick up in most craft stores (mine was from the last craft show I managed to get to!), this gives a nice sturdy tag to work with enabling me to cover and ink without it bending or creasing :)

The image of the fabulous footballer and the football backing paper are both from the NEW Work and Play 6 from Polkadoodles and while we're talking images - please go check out the new digital downloads at the Polkadoodles digital store there are lots of new downloadable images that are lush!  (while you're there check out there new stamps too!  They might have to fall into your basket!!).

I used my Graph'it Marker Pens to colour the footballer:
Skin: 4120, 4115, 4155, 4145, 4135
Hair: 4170, 3110, 3150
Clothes: 3170, 5210, 5220, 9500, 9501, 9503

The backing is made of layered torn papers, a hessian goal! and a layered cardboard stand area for the shrink plastic crowd!!  (I stamped a boy and girl stamp I got with a magazine onto the shrink plastic and then cut it out - it was very hard to stop flying away when shrinking and catching them caused some giggles I can tell you!).  I used a stencil on the back and added a sentiment also from Work and Play 6.

Thank you for stopping by and please do leave a comment as I love reading them all and appriciate the feedback :)

Happy Crafting :)

I would like to put this make into the following challenges:

For the men out there....

Hello everyone, me again :)

I'm here with my mid challenge inspiration for the Aud Sentiments Challenge blog and this times theme is - 'any sentiment other than Birthday'!

I chose to make a something more aimed at men this time rather than my last few pearly and sparkly designs! It made a change not to be distroying a necklace or two to add sparkle!

The sponser for this times challenge is Stamp Art Design by Kathryne and you can check out the designs at Whimsy Stamps.

The image I have chosed to used is Charlie sitting on a rock and I have coloured him with my Graph'it Marker Pens

The colours I have used are:
Skin: 4125, 4115, 4155, 3110, 4145, 4135
Hair: 3150, 3190, 4170
Clothes: 9505, 9100, 9102, 9103, 1210, 1230, 3130
Scene: 8220, 8250, 8270, 9500, 9502, 9505, 9102, 9103

I added momento ink (toffee crunch) to the edges of the image and distressed the edge with the edges of my scissors (proper tool is in my wish list lol).

As you can see I then matted him onto several layers of paper (all distressed at the egdes) including one I stamped with a leaf stamp from my stash and a layer of natural fibre sacking (garden centres are a great source of cheap alternatives for crafting!).

The sentiment added is simpe - Gone Fishing, and comes with the digital download of Charlie fishing on a rock!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you will join us at the Aud Sentiment Challenge Blog for this times challenge :)

Happy Crafting!

I would like to enter this design in the following challenges:

Diva's do Tag it!

Hello everyone,

Me and the rest of the Divas by Design Design Team have been set the challenge this time to come up with a Tag or a card with a Tag on it...so here is my crafty make:

The image is called Frozen Heart and is from Sassy Studio Designs, isn't she wonderful!  I have coloured her with my Graph'it Marker Pens and layered her onto black card to make the image pop.  That gave me the idea to use just monochrome on the rest of the card so that the image would really shine :)

The colours used on the image are:
Skin: 4120, 4155, 4170, 4135, 4145
Hair: 1230, 3110, 3150, 3190
Clothes: 7220, 7240, 7260, 7140, 7150, 7115, 7119, 9503, 5160, 5110, 5125, 3150

To add a little something to the tag I have edged it with satin (an old duvet cover from a charity shop!  This is my continuing search for crafty alternatives!) and I have also added a strip of the satin as a ribbon at the top of the tag.
The tag itself is white cardstock stamped with a text stamp all over and then glued to the card base.

The cardbase itself is a patterned piece of heavy weight paper (from a pad purchased in Lidl!) and then I have added die cut flowers with buttons and as you can see from the photo I have torn the backing paper and added a rather sexy button up piece of satin (from the bottom of the duvet!) which I rather love!

Perfect pearls were also used in flower formation around the design to add a touch of bling to the satin sheen :)

I really hope you can join us this time over at the Divas by Design Challenge Blog and I really look forward to seeing your entries :)

Thank you once again for stopping by and if you have a mo please leave a comment as I love your feedback :)

Happy Crafting :)
