UPDATE ADDED 16/8/14
YAY, this design was in the top 3 DT picks for Graph'it Marker Challenge - wk 30 hot colours

Hello again,
I'm just popping into give some inspiration for the new challenge over at Polkadoodles challenge blog. The theme is 'clash of colours!'....what a fabulous theme!
I decided to use the theme to highlight the natural clashes of colours all around us so I looked no further than one of my fav images on the Dollie Daydream Goes East CD from Polkadoodles which is also available as a complete collection digital download. Amongst all of the glorious images of Dollie, embellies galore and backgrounds is the wonderful digi images of Koi carp! What you all are saying...you went past all of the fab characters and chose the fish!!! A bit fishy!!! (*bad joke alert!*) But bear with me...because our challenge is clash of colours and the orient does just that, even in nature....so I present....Koi Clash of Colours....
I really enjoyed this one...I used satin silk card for the background as I wanted the glossy finish and used distress inks in mustard seed, shabby shutters, broken china and momento amathyst applied with a combination of ink dusters (brushes) and cut n dry foam. The 'seaweed' and the bubbles are hand doodled designs onto the backing using a black micron pen and highlighted with my Graph'it white shaker pen.
For the Koi themselves I used my Graph'it Marker pens which give such lush vibrant colours that they were perfect for this theme.
Colours used were: 1150, 2150, 3130, 4155, 2160, 5220, 3150.
I have added a close-up picture to show the fab colours a little better :)
The Koi were added to the background with glue gel (like silicone) to add a little height to the project.
Final touches were to mat onto black card and add a corner embellie made from a piece of old scarf (see never throw anything!) and some raffia.
I hope this gives you some inspiration...and you can hop over to http://polkadoodle.blogspot.co.uk/ and join in the fun :)
Happy Crafting
