Spectrum Noir Inspiration
Hello there,
It's a fabulous thing that as a part of the Spectrum Noir Design Team we get to go back over our colleagues tutorials on the Spectrum Noir Website and take inspiration from just one of them to influence our own design once a month.
I am amazed at the ideas and inspiration stored in there by some amazing designers so if you haven't spent some time strolling through the tutorials, hop over, you won't believe how much is there......BUT....finish reading here first lol
Today's inspiration came from an older tutorial (told you I'd spent some time on there lol), first published in 2012....
The tutorial talked about dress and hat shading and it is from there I took inspiration for this design....
No hat I know, but the tutorial really made me think about simple shading of clothing instead of trying to hard to add details (like folds) that aren't there!
Here's the link to my inspiration Colouring the dress and the hat
And here's what I used to make mine:
Spectrum Noir markers:
Skin: TN3, FS9 , 6 ,4, 2
Hair: GB10, 6, 4, TN8
Clothes: LG1, 2, 3, DR3
Bunny: PL1, 2
Image: Dollshouse stamp by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps
Papers: First Edition
Flowers: Petal Lu from That Craft Place
Matt Black card (the only black card I use, and is my top tip) from Crafter's Companion
More pics:
Thank you for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts....so don't forget to leave a comment before you go xxx

BFF Karaoke!
Hello there,
Today I get to tell you a little about me, and my BFF!
Her name is Nic Thandi, and she IS my person :D The great thing is she doesn't have a blog so can't comment or get me back lol
Nic and I have been tangled in each other's lives for many years and I really really can't imagine a future with her not in it. She is complicated and simple, straight-forward and all over the place! She is Nic! So clever and articulate, an amazing mother and I will always be her person sticking to her like glue (and as a crafter, I know glue, so it will stick well lol)
So, this one is dedicated to my Nic :D
Just how fabulous is this stamp! Perfect for any BFF, but you'll have to get your own, mine is taken! lol
Here's the list of materials used:

Come Colour with That Craft Place...
Hello there,
WooHoo, it's the 1st September so I can share my latest DT inspiration for That Craft Place!
I had a ball making this card with a brand new stamp...
Oh I just love this one and am kinda pleased I don't have to send this one to the boss lady! And no Lisa Ditzie Horton that isn't an invite to request it lol
Here's what I used to make it, all materials are available from That Craft Place:
Image: Lily Mae, BFF Karaoke stamp, by Little Darlings Stamps
Coloured in Spectrum Noir markers
Skin: TN3, FS2, 7, 9
Hair: BG3, 1, 5, GB 7, 5, 2
Clothes: DG1, 2, 4, LY3, 2
Backing IG3, 2
Other materials:
Black card, Graphic 45 Artisan papers, ribbon, twine, buttons, Petaloo flowers, flat backed pearls
Here's a few more pics:
The card is put together with lots of mat and layering, so Top Tip... this is a great way to use up those left over pieces from other projects, especially the backing card! I seem to end up with a load of black card strips (I'm a little in love with black mat card incase you hadn't noticed lol). I always match the inside to the outside, it finishes off the card and makes me smile :D These papers are so lush that only a touch of embellishment and Lily Mae's BFF Karaoke is ready!
I really hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog today and please leave me a comment and use the follow buttons on the top right sidebar to follow me.

Hello again,
I have another CAS (Clean and Simple) card to share today, using the totally lush stamp 'Novela' by Saturated Canary. She and the coordinating 'school house' background stamp are available at Little Darlings Rubber Stamps. They are just adorable and such a joy to use.
