Spectrum Noir Inspiration

Hello there,

It's a fabulous thing that as a part of the Spectrum Noir Design Team we get to go back over our colleagues tutorials on the Spectrum Noir Website and take inspiration from just one of them to influence our own design once a month.

I am amazed at the ideas and inspiration stored in there by some amazing designers so if you haven't spent some time strolling through the tutorials, hop over, you won't believe how much is there......BUT....finish reading here first lol

Today's inspiration came from an older tutorial (told you I'd spent some time on there lol), first published in 2012....

The tutorial talked about dress and hat shading and it is from there I took inspiration for this design....

No hat I know, but the tutorial really made me think about simple shading of clothing instead of trying to hard to add details (like folds) that aren't there!

Here's the link to my inspiration Colouring the dress and the hat

And here's what I used  to make mine:
Spectrum Noir markers:
Skin: TN3, FS9 , 6 ,4, 2

Clothes: LG1, 2, 3, DR3

Love playing with new skin tones...

Hello again,

I love taking inspiration from fellow crafters, especially different colour combinations for my markers.  We all approach our colouring in a different or slightly different way, creating our own style, so when we see a tutorial or a design that we just swoon at we love to take a peek at the colours used and write them in colour journals (yes, the ever growning book where I write down all my combo's)....

So here's one of my latest combo's based on an awesome tutorial by
Using HB2 SPECTRUM NOIR in my skin tones...
