GDT Rocking it for Top Tip Tuesday...

Hello there,

I was recently asked by Top Tip Tuesday Challenge to be a guest designer and I of course said yes :D  It's a fabulous challenge and as the name suggests the Design Team come up each week with some fantastic Top Tips on tons of different crafty things...new design ideas, how to's and quick tips, so if you haven't found them yet just click on their name above and hop on over to join.

Anyway, the sponsor this time is Kenny K Stamps and as I need to make way more male cards (I never seem to do them) I chose to work with this gorgeous little rocker - Anima Rocker
The theme is a Bingo board and I have used the centre vertical line, Embossing, Sentiment, Die Cut (a Tip, when die cutting large word die's, its worth a quick pass to emboss so the edges look totally finished and awesome)

For colours used see list of below

Inside I once again used off cuts to match it in x
Here's what I used to make this one:

Die set: My Favourite Things Dienamics Blueprints #11
Colouring and card base: Neenah Solar White marker paper, Matt Black 300gsm cardstock and Spectrum Noir markers by Crafter's Companion
Skin: FS2, 4, 9, TN3, CR3
Hair: BGR2, 3, 5, HB1, 3
Clothes: IG2, 4, 5, 6, 10, TBI, 2, 3, 6, DR7, 4, CR11
Shading: BG7, 5

Top Tip: When creating a shadow to enhance the dimension of your image, don't colour all the way around it!  Remember where your light source was coming from and then add shadow only where you think it would be the deepest.  You can 'map' this in the lightest possible shade first if you are a little nervous as it won't show later :D  You can see where I have added my BR7 and 5 to on the pics :D

Here's a couple more pics:

Thank you for popping by as always, and do hop over to this weeks challenge at Top Tip Tuesday

Lollilulu Crafts Challenge

The sponsor for the first challenge is Kenny K and the theme is Naughty of Nice! a great theme for December :D

Here is what I came up with:

oooh Naughty or Nice!

Here's what I used:
Image: Mrs Claus Digital Stamp by Kenny K Downloads
Colour and card: Coloured with Graph'it Marker pens (my fav red combo of 5210, 5255, 5270, 5280  and a little 6150) and I used 300gsm Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place to colour on
Backing: papers from my stash by HOTP (told you I was using up my old stuff lol)
Embellies: red and white glittered voile; bling ribbon; flat backed gems - check out the embellishments at That Craft Place
Sentiment: http: Scrabble Stye Christmas Sentiments from That Craft Place

Here's How:
I love off-set layering and that is what I used for this one.  The main design is on a 7x7 inch card base and I covered it with the base backing paper.  I then added another layer at 5x5 inch in a coordinating colour so that it was hanging over the top by approx 2 cms.  The image itself was then layered onto coordinating paper and again raised to hang over again by approx 2 cms.  This brings the eye up and I love the effect as its so simple.
The glitter voile is added by using the hot glue gun (no sewing because I'm way to lazy! lol)  I start on the right and add a blob of glue, lay the folded voile onto it and then using the end of my embossing tool I push more of the voile into the glue to create an easy pleat!  Continue this along the width of the card taking it slightly over the edge.  To hide any glue add a pearl string or in this case I used a bling ribbon strip...Voila!
The sentiment tiles are glossed over using glossy accents to add to the shine and that is it!
No special tricks, just a simple layout that gives a bling effect :D

Here's the close ups:

Thank you so much for stopping by and please pop over to Lolli Lulu Crafts challenge blog and also check out the shop HERE (some pre Christmas crafty pressies to yourself).

Happy Crafting :D
