Polka Doodles Challenge - red, white and blue....

Hello again,

Red, white and blue is the challenge this week over on Polkadoodles Challenge Blog and so here is my design to add some inspiration....

Red, white and blue immediately made me think of American TV shows and the amount of shopping they do...especially shoes!!!

So I used chose the Dollie Girl Talk CDrom from Polkadoodles (which is also available as full collection digital download!) and put together the fully coloured image of Dollie Shop with the un-coloured image of the shop (as below).  You can easily mix the pre-coloured images with the un-coloured ones, meaning that you don't have to colour everything and they print out so beautifully its almost a shame to colour your own!

Finished card is 5''x5'' square

I used my Graph'it Marker Pen's to colour the shop image (see how it easily blends with the pre-coloured printed image of Dollie herself!):
Bricks & roof: 3110, 4155, 4115, 4155, 4170 & 3110
Flowers: 5110, 5210, 5215, 8220 & 8250
Glass: 9500 & 9502

I also printed out 3 shoe icon embellishments from the Dollie Girl Talk CDrom and after colouring them punched them out with a 1'' circle punch...I then covered the shoe's with glossy accents so they shine!

Add a rushed ribbon, some flowers and the border is complete!

I also added a sentiment from the CD and punched red hearts :)

Celebrate the sunshine and equality :)

Hello all,

Firstly apologies for the late posting but I have been a busy crafter getting samples ready for an exciting launch with Polkadoodles - lets just say, Christmas in July is getting better and better for us crafters :)

Anyhow...as the sun is so glorious and last weekend was the wonderful and amazing London Pride, in which my eldest son and his partner were both marching again for charities they work so hard for..it got me thinking about that fabulous rainbow of colours that means so much about freedom, respect and equality for all and this was my inspiration for todays make.

I used an A5 card base as a start, landscape and then cut a card mat that was approx 1cm smaller all round.
This was my LGBT Rainbow flag base - which I coloured in my Graph'it Marker pens (colours of the rainbow are 5220, 2160, 1150, 8260, 7150, 7119, 6170).

I then set to work with my sillouette portrait to cut out the aperture front for my celebration card.  I chose a sunbeam shape and the wording 'Sunshine always follow the rain' as you can see and set it to cut in the middle of the page so I would have enough room to cut round for the front of my A5 card.

I used my sillouette again for cut basic flower shaps on white card in various sizes and then coloured them again with the same rainbow colour combo with my Graph'it Markers.
The centre of the flowers I added spots of white using the Graph'it White Shaker Pen

A simple design but then again its a simple message - Equality :)
